Peggy McComb services Wednesday

Peggy M. McComb, age 74, of Gnadenhutten died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at her residence following a short illness.

She was born July 14, 1932, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Bernice L. (Mathias) Frey.

She was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of the Uhrichsville Moose and Eagles, and a member of the Midvale VFW Auxiliary. Peggy also served as a volunteer at the Twin City Hospital Coffee Bar for several years.

Peggy loved fishing and traveling, but her favorite time was hiking the hills and playing with her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Darrell (Kathy) McComb and Donald (Jean) McComb of Gnadenhutten; two daughters, Jaynie Lou Campbell and special companion Robert Hostetler of Gnadenhutten and Peggy Elayne (Gary) Tanksley of New Philadelphia; five grandchildren, Marie Campbell, Brandi McComb, Melissa Campbell and companion Gale Sanders, Jason (Joyce) McComb and Daniel Freed and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosalouisa Decker of Portage, Ind.; a brother, Kenneth Frey of Abingdon, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

On Nov. 15, 1949, Peggy was married to Robert L. McComb, and he preceded her in death on April 11, 1991. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at 1 p.m. in the Gowins Funeral Home at Gnadenhutten with Pastor Tom Klaserner officiating. Burial will be in Fry’s Valley Moravian Church Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday (today), June 5, 2007, in the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m.

The family requests that any memorials be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
