John Huston funeral is Friday


John Morden Huston

Just prior to his 87th birthday, John passed away.

He was a life-long resident of Akron and will be missed by his wife, Dorothy (Liggett) Huston of 66 years. He also leaves behind, five children, Janice (Frank) Larkin, Diane (Paul) Bailey, Donald (Cinder) Huston
, Carol Weiner and John Huston. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Christine Frost, Bryan, Bret, Brady Stalnaker, Autumn Sharpnack, Jennifer Morrison, John Huston, Robbie, Kenny, Carrie, Kelsey Weiner, Jaime Missurelli, Barbara Green, Jamie House, Donald Huston, Phil, Dennis, Mike, Tim Bailey, Tammy Hofer, Teresa Watkins. Additionally, he leaves numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

In the 1930's John became a Master Truck Mechanic while serving in the Civilian Conservation Corps. John was a B-24 pilot during World War II and served with distinction in the European Theatre. After the war, he worked as an instrumentation engineer in the Wheel and Brake Division of Goodyear Aerospace and retired after 43 years.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Ocotber 12, 2007 at the Bokas Funeral Home in Fairlawn, 3653 W. Market St. Calling hours will be Thursday at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Entombment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.

John Huston dies at 86

John Huston, husband of Dorothy (Liggett) Huston, died Monday night in the intensive care unit at Akron General Hospital. He was 86. John fell three weeks ago and received a head injury. He later developed pneumonia and other complications.

The obituary for John will be in the Akron Beacon Journal on Wednesday,.

John Morden Huston was born November 2, 1920 at home in Akron, Ohio, the son of Ralph Morden Huston and Mildred Martha Kline. He was a 1939 graduate of North High School in Akron and received the Manhood Award there. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1942 to 1945 as a first lieutenant. He flew a B24 bomber. He worked 43 years at Goodyear Aerospace in Akron. He retired in October, 1983. They had two sons and three daughters and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

John and Dorothy eloped to Greenup, Kentucky, where they were married on November 29, 1941.

Dorothy is the youngest child if the late Percy and Grace (Parker) Liggett. She is the oldest of six living grandchildren of Frank and Nora (Penn) Liggett.
